Why We Do What We Do

Last year we provided $1.3 million dollars in financial aid to over 5,000 people in the communities we serve. Because of people like you, we were able to provide opportunities that enhance children's lives, activities that bring families closer together and programs that empower young people to be successful.

Ways to Give

Gift planning allows donors to choose from a variety of giving options.

Gifts of Cash, usually by check and made payable to the YMCA, provide a charitable income tax deduction for those who itemize.
Gifts of Securities of appreciated stock and other securities may offer substantial tax advantages including the forgiveness of the capital gains tax and an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities.
Gifts of Life Insurance – donors may give paid up policies or establish new policies, which name the YMCA as owner and beneficiary.
Matching gifts by many employers offer excellent programs that provide a match to gifts to the YMCA. This is a great way to increase your support and multiply your gift.
Estate and Planned Gifts – one of the most attractive forms of an estate gift is that of charitable remainder trusts. It provides income for the life of the donor, and both income and estate tax deductions. Charitable gift annuities also provide income and a tax deduction for the donor. Donating to the YMCA through a bequest in a will is also a meaningful gift plan and may provide an estate tax deduction.
