Information For Parents
There is medical staff on site each week to administer health care and medications. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors, we are able to provide opportunities to help with the cost of one week of summer camp.
The food is always kid friendly with picky-eater and vegetarian options. We accommodate food allergies. YMCA Character Building Your child will be coached, encouraged, and rewarded to grow in body, mind, spirit, and friendship. Everything we do is based on our core values: honesty, caring, responsibility, and respect.

Weekly Camp Cost:
$395 Rate A
$320 Rate B
$220 Rate C
“Why three different rates?”
We realize families have differing abilities to pay, so we offer a voluntary three-tiered pricing program for Camp Wakonda. The price you choose in no way influences the quality of experience each child receives.
Rate A reflects the full cost of attending camp; (this is the “default” rate in the registration form.) Thanks to the efforts of our hard-working volunteers and in-kind donors, we are able to offer Rate B for those families where the cost of camp would be out of reach. And if your current financial circumstances would prevent your child from attending camp this year, our supporters want you to consider Rate C. No proof of financial need is required; simply pay the fee that fits; it’s all the same great camp experience.
As always, we still offer scholarships to those who qualify to ensure that all children have this wonderful opportunity. Contact the Camp Director for more information.
